Review: From the moment I started reading The House of Dark Shadows I fell in love with Digger's writing style. It is quite apparent how well versed he is with writing and the English language. The description of Alex Rommel gave me insight into his suffering, as well as his rigid belief system. I could tell exactly the kind of man he was through Digger's elegant portrayal of him. As the story quickly develops, Alex decides to take a risk that goes against his instincts and personal values. It seems apparent that he decides to take this risk in an effort to move forward from his devastating past of losing the love of his life when she decides to walk away from him. The mystery of her disappearance haunts Alex throughout the entire story even after he meets a woman through the online dating site. Although his new love interest, Hope, seems to be the perfect woman for him, readers learn that there is something awry. There were moments throughout the novel when I thought I had everything figured out, but Digger creates an elaborate plot that will keep you guessing until the very end. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this novel and I recommend it to anyone who appreciates excellent writing, intriguing and mysterious plot lines, and character development.
