DREAM ACROSS TIME – Book 1
A deep, warm laugh rumbled from him.
“You think it’s funny that I’m going nuts?” She placed her hands on her hips and glared at him over the horse’s back.
Quinn moved around the horse. “You are not going insane.”
As Quinn took another step toward her, she took a step back. “That’s what Julie says. I’m not convinced, though.”
With every step she took, Quinn matched it. In a deep, sultry voice he uttered, “My beautiful, intelligent Evelyn, your mind is very sound.”
Her butt hit the building. Standing in a pile of broken hay stalks, her gaze fixed on Quinn’s eyes, and her breaths came in short rasps. Her mind didn’t feel sound at all, neither did her body. Pulse racing, heart pounding against her chest, she seemed in the midst of losing control. All her senses heightened until colors were brighter. She looked past Quinn at the gentle slopes of the mountain range nearby and the deep blue sky.
He stood an inch before her. She breathed in his musky, masculine scent. Her clothes tightened and scratched against her sensitive skin. Though under a warm sun, a shiver raked her body. How could a man rob her of control, of her senses?
Quinn placed his hands on the building, trapping her between his arms. “Tell me,” his husky voice whispered in her ear. “What has gotten you so bothered you think you are going crazy?”
The heat radiating between their close bodies sent ripples of desire through her. She shuddered.
“You,” she whispered in return, not meeting his gaze. “These dreams. They’re interrupting my life. I’m letting my relationship with you interfere with everything I do when I’m awake. Any good psychiatrist would have a field day with me.” Evelyn paused, took a deep breath to calm her excited body.
Since he towered over her by at least a foot, she talked to his chest. The white shirt, pulled taut over his front, showed the outlines of his well-defined muscles. She wanted to touch them. Evelyn clenched her fists at her sides, taking in another deep breath, and looked up. “It’s gotten to the point where Julie thinks I’m in love—”
“Are you?” Quinn interrupted, a hint of pleading tainted his voice.
His question caught her off guard. She hadn’t thought about the possibility of love, of discussing their feelings for each other. She didn’t answer, and her lack of response brought an expression of sadness to Quinn’s features. She cared for him, but love? How could she love someone who wasn’t real, someone who existed before her birth? Someone who’s a ghost?
Quinn turned his back to her. “I thought… never mind.”
The misery in his voice pinged at her soul. “Quinn.” She put a hand on his shoulder to halt him from leaving. “I’m sorry. I can’t love you. You’re not real.”
His body tensed beneath her fingers. Quinn turned back to her and her hand fell to his chest. He held it there. “Damn it, Evelyn. Stop talking nonsense. I am real.”
She couldn’t deny that fact. His hands were warm. His heart beat strong and steady. Her eyes widened and she gazed up into his passion-filled gaze. She wished she wasn’t dreaming.
“Let me show you how real I am.” His lips descended onto hers.
All the blood rushed from her head and her knees weakened. She leaned into his body for support. His arms wrapped around her. Every nerve fired at his touch. His lips parted and his tongue coaxed her mouth open.
Too dazed to resist, she copied his motions, and the gentle kiss blazed into a raging fire. Their mouths, hot and hungry, moved against each other’s in perfect harmony. Evelyn’s arousal gained momentum. She swirled her tongue against his in wild abandon, learning the sweet taste of him. Digging her fingers into his shoulders, she held on to the moment for dear life.
JOURNEY ACROSS TIME – Book 2
But now Trent doesn’t even look like he was ever affected by the car ride. Amazed at how much energy he had, she sat up and crossed her legs. Boy, what a sight he is.
Trent, shirtless and showing off his built body, strolled from the water, moving with precision. The women around her tittered, whispering fast and lewd phrases about “the hunk.” Her gaze swung to one group of females whose attentions and words confirmed their obvious appraisals of the man. She looked back at Trent. His quadriceps rippled with each stride, fighting against the sand’s resistance. He stopped and wiped his forehead. Beads of water trailed down his light brown skin, glistening on him like pixie dust. He bent over, then quickly straightened. His long black hair made an arc in the air, casting off the seawater. Trent ran his fingers through his slick and shiny locks.
Poseidon come to life. Beautiful Greek god incarnate. Julie sighed. No wonder he's making the women flap their lips. If one of her girlfriends were nearby, she’d be chatting up a storm with them about him too.
Her pussy warmed, as did her breasts. He seemed to be a heady dose of sizzling hormones just by looking at him, making her body flush with desire that rolled into a burning need.
She shook her head. Stop thinking about how handsome he is! Just friends. That's all it can be. With him or any man since I don’t want my heart broken again.
He sauntered over and retrieved a bottle of water from a cooler. After taking a long draught, he proceeded to dump the water over his head. He ran his fingers through his wet hair again. A mischievous glint twinkled in his eyes. His gaze traveled over her, then to the other sunbathers around them. A smile lit his face and faint lines creased around his deep brown eyes, slanted provocatively.
She lifted an eyebrow. “What’s that look for?”
He chuckled. “I am astounded by all the scantily clad women…showing much more than just an ankle.” He watched a tall, thin blonde dressed in a bikini walk by, his head turning as she passed. “How decadent and scandalous...arousing, actually. I may not be able to contain myself.” His gaze whipped back to Julie and he winked.
Drawn to him by his charm, Julie rolled her eyes and smiled back. She couldn’t help it. Talk about arousing. His six-pack abs were right there, two feet from her face. All she’d have to do was lean forward, extend her hand, trail a finger along the dark divots of the muscles.
Maybe friends with benefits?
A WISH ACROSS TIME – Book 3
Her gaze darted from the paper to the people at the altar. Rings. Her heart sank in anguish. Sorrow sat heavy on her stomach. She fingered the black cat pin she wore on the lapel of her navy blue jacket. The handmade accessory was an artist’s rendition of her cat, Myrddin.
That night, long ago, when Ryan had dumped her, a kitten had wandered out of the tree line surrounding the mountain home of her childhood and into her life. The cat seemed to have known she needed consoling. It only took an instant for the two of them to become attached to each other. Myrddin grew to be a great companion and familiar. Cassandra had the pin created and cast a spell on it to always stay connected and comforted by her feline friend. Sometimes she wondered if Myrddin would have trotted out of the tree line had she and Ryan stayed together.
Ryan rubbed the back of his neck again and glanced into gathered throng of guests. His haunting gaze caught hers.
“Ryan…psst…Ryan,” the groom uttered.
Ryan shook his head and looked at the man in front of him. Subdued snickers tittered through the sanctuary.
“The rings, please?” The minister held out his hand.
“Oh, geez, sorry,” Ryan stammered, shoved his hand into his pocket, and fumbled to remove the rings. He held the bands out in the palm of his hand.
The minister blessed them and handed one to Lara and the other to the groom. Jeffrey placed the band on Lara’s finger, repeating the words per the minister’s prompts, “I give you this ring as a symbol of my love and faithfulness. As I place it on your finger, I commit my heart and soul to you. I ask you to wear this ring as a reminder of the vows we have spoken today, our wedding day, and as a reminder of my undying love for you.”
Cassandra drew in a shuddering breath. Way back when, on an autumn evening, Ryan had almost said the same to her during a romantic moment. Remembering his words, tears clouded her eyes. You’re my love. My heart and soul I promise to you with this ring. He had then slipped a silver ring with a solid, milky white opal heart shape onto her right finger, the humps facing her nail, and placed a soft kiss on her lips. Her heart had been captured.
What a fool I was then.
Ryan glanced her way again.
She traced the edge of her pin and nibbled her lip. Was he trying to place her? Figure out who she was? A shiver ran through her body.
“Cass? Are you all right? You’ve gone pale,” Julie murmured near her ear.
Cassandra nodded, keeping her gaze glued to the wedding ceremony while toying with the cat pin. Calm yourself. You’re not that young girl anymore.
Lara took the other ring. She placed the band on Jeffrey’s finger and repeated the vows, “I give you this ring as a symbol of my love and faithfulness. As I place it on your finger, I commit my heart and soul to you. I ask you to wear this ring as a reminder of the vows we have spoken today, our wedding day, and as a reminder of my undying love for you.”
“By the power vested in me by the State of Nevada,” the reverend stated, “I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss each other.”
Jeffrey and Lara sealed their vows. Ryan took one more look in her direction. One of his eyebrows rose in tandem with the corner of his lips.
Her gaze widened. No. He can’t remember. I can’t deal with him. I don’t want to deal with any man, not after what he did—and after the fiasco with Charlie. She touched her pin and chanted under her breath, begging the universe to make him forget any memories he had of her.
DREAM ACROSS TIME – Book 1
Evelyn allowed him to lay her down on the hay and didn’t protest when he lifted her top. Enraptured by the heady sensations of his kisses on her bare skin, she lost track of the world around her. Before she knew it, her clothes were off and discarded. She lay naked and submitted to his apprising contemplation.
His gaze, smoldering with sexual hunger, followed the path his hands made down her shoulders to her breasts. Warm palms massaged her mounds, then moved on, exploring her body, caressing her down to her toes. Waves of desire rolled through her.
Quinn’s lips trailed over her body, tracing the course his hands had. His kisses began with each foot, then coursed up her skin, sweetly kissing her navel before traveling up. When he reached her breasts again, he outlined each rosy peak with the tip of his tongue.
Gasping in sweet pleasure, she arched her back, inviting him to take her fully. He understood the willing invitation and suckled on one nipple, then the other as his hands resumed their discovery of her body and slipped between her legs. His touches sent shivers of delight through her that ebbed and flamed with each of his movements.
Evelyn, never feeling such pure and explosive pleasure before, reveled in the euphoria coursing through her. She yearned for more and shifted so he could access her easier.
He stopped, breathing in heavy pants. “My sweet, innocent Evelyn, I have waited so long for this, but I shall stop if you want me to.”
“What do you mean, stop?” her sultry voice questioned.
Quinn lay on top of her and kissed her. His body fit hers perfectly, and his cock pushed at her through his pants. That’s when she understood. An aching need she never felt before brewed within her. Returning his kiss with just as much force, she put her hands between their bodies.
“Evelyn?” Quinn propped himself up on his elbows.
She didn’t respond. Her desires had taken over. She worked quickly to remove his shirt, exposing his hairless, smooth and soft chest and abdomen. He quivered when her fingers traced his muscles. She leaned up and gave his pectoral a quick kiss.
“Evelyn, does this mean…?”
“Yes.” She pulled him down to her, taking his mouth with demanding command. She sensed the thrill of his arousal once he removed his pants. Their bodies entwined, skin to skin, woman to man. She needed more.
JOURNEY ACROSS TIME – Book 2
The brief caress sent a jolt of sexual electricity zinging through her body. She shifted her head and turned her face so her lips met the strong hardness of his. The touch of her mouth upon his was a delicious sensation and sent the core of her being into a wild swirl. The kiss was slow, thoughtful, tender, and light like the ocean breeze. The intimacy and connection to nature, to him, sang through her veins. She then kissed him with all her worth, hoping he would feel her love.
The gentle, sweet kiss turned into a demanding, passionate melding. She clutched his back, pinning him tight against her. He wrapped his arms around her, and his body covered most of hers. A low, seductive purr hummed in her throat. She gently laid her fingers on the sides of his face, concentrating and reveling in the feel of his arms around her. His warmth blanketed her body and enveloped her spirit. Lingering and savoring every moment, she never wanted the kiss to end, but no sooner did her thoughts cease when the kiss stopped. Julie laid there for a moment, her eyes still closed, basking in the remembrance of his lips on hers, in the experience he had created with the exercise.
Pleasure radiated through her in waves. It felt good to be close to another person, and regardless if it was just a rebound fling or if it would lead somewhere, she wanted more. As for her being with a relative stranger, it wasn’t like it was her first time. She’d sought out casual encounters in the past to make her feel something more than just the doldrums about life in general. College sure had been a learning experience in more ways than one.
Glancing around, she checked for any other nighttime beach strollers. No one was in sight. Seemed they were the only ones in the world at the moment. Not caring that they were in public and at any time the status of beachgoers could change, she sat up, reached behind and under her top, and released the fastening of her bra. In one swift move, she yanked off her clothing.
Trent bolted upright, his mouth opening and closing, apparently at a loss for words. He swallowed. “Julie? What are you doing?”
She reached out, grasped his hand, and brought it to her breast. “Make love to me. Make me forget about the world we live in. Make me only see and feel you, even if it’s only for a little while.” Julie released his hand and leaned back on her forearms.
He moved his hand to her breast again with a tentative touch.
Julie watched his facial expression change as if considering what was going on and if he wanted to pursue the course of actions to fulfill her request. For a second, she thought he might not want to expand upon the experience, but then he shifted and planted his mouth upon hers.
They made out in the sand like a couple of teenagers, and like a teen, she didn’t care about the impropriety or where the sand would go or what would happen if someone were to come upon them. All she cared about was the man whose tongue swirled against hers and whose fingers toyed with her hard nipple.
She lay back, bringing him down with her as their lips stayed locked together. He palmed her breast, and she reciprocated, feeling the smooth hardness of his chest. Julie grazed her hand down his torso and wrapped it around to his low back. Trent broke the kiss and trailed his mouth over her chin, down her neck to her breast where he sucked a nipple into his mouth.
With her free hand, she cradled his head, loving how her skin tingled wherever he touched and kissed her. Bolts of lust-filled fire sliced through her and seared her feminine center. It wasn’t enough to just kiss and touch each other anymore. She fumbled with the fastenings of his shorts.
Trent pulled away from her and unbuttoned the shorts for her. She started to pull them down, but he stopped her and fed a hand into his pocket. He pulled out a couple of foil packets. “Will these be needed?”
Julie took the wrapped condoms from him. “Where’d you get these?”
“Your aunt. She said to keep them handy in case you and I got close. She winked when she said it.”
She chuckled and placed them on the ground beside them. “That sounds like her. Can’t believe she gave them to you, but on the other hand, I’m glad, since yes, we will need them in a bit.” Julie yanked his shorts and underwear down.
He stood to finish removing them, and before he could sit on the ground again, she clutched his hips and drew his cock into her mouth. She milked him gently, tantalizing him with her tongue and licking the drop of fluid that beaded on the tip of his length. Julie moaned at the taste of him.
A WISH ACROSS TIME – Book 3
Moments later, he jerked out and away from her, then pulled her up from the floor. In a quick turn, he spun and thrust her back against the wall. His mouth claimed hers with unapologetic force. He fumbled with the fastens of her jeans, then when they were undone, tugged the material down her legs.
“Commando, huh?” Not letting her answer, he positioned his head between her legs and swept his tongue over her pussy.
Fleeting imaginings of her family and friends coming home and being welcomed by the sight of her and Ryan fucking at the foot of the stairs danced through her mind. If it happened, so be it. Getting caught only added to the heightened state of arousal she was already in.
His tongue and fingers stroked her. Her heartbeat sped up, as did her breathing. He seemed to have mastered the technique of cunnilingus if the way her nerves caught fire and flamed up from her pussy to the rest of her body were any indication. She panted. She clasped his head, ready to feel an orgasm rip through her body.
He stopped, stood, and reached into his back pocket. He pulled out his wallet, and from it, the all too familiar foil packet. Ryan held it up. “Yes?”
“Yes.” She nodded as well to emphasize the point.
In a few quick motions, he had himself sheathed and pressed up against her body. “You are one sexy lady. Anyone ever tell you that?”
She bobbed her head again and guided his cock into her pussy.
“Put your legs around me,” he demanded.
Supported by the wall and his hands on her ass, she wrapped one leg then the other around him and found the position to be quite enjoyable. Ryan pumped into her as he kissed and sucked her shoulder. She rode him, feeling the sexual energy build between them.
Her ex had never been so passionate. In fact, their lovemaking had been so normal and ordinary he never would have considered taking her up against a wall, and especially not in a location where they could get caught. It was nice being with a man who exuded confidence and gave into desire, even if it was Ryan.
Character Interview for Dream Across Time by C.R. Moss
Hi everyone! My name’s Evelyn Sheridan and I can be found in C.R. Moss’s story: Dream Across Time, book 1 of the Raritan Manor Ranch series.
Thank you so much for joining us here today, Evelyn. How about we start off with you telling us a little bit about yourself.
- I’m originally from Texas, just graduated college, and as a graduation present, my parents let me take the summer off from their ranch to travel with my best friend, Julie. Turns out the place I’ve been dreaming about is her Aunt’s home outside of the Las Vegas, NV city limits.
A ranch outside of Las Vegas. Sounds fun! If I understand correctly, C.R. Moss lives in that city. If you were taken out of the story and placed into your author’s world, what would be the first thing you’d do?
- Take in a show, eat at a five-star restaurant and go to one of the spas.
That’d make for a wonderful weekend. Now, if you could pull your author into your world, what do you think would happen to them?
- I think she’d do fine. She’s been on ranches before, so she knows a thing or two about horses and riding. Plus, I believe she and Cassandra would get along famously.
Another relative of Julie’s has come to the ranch for a visit. What’s your take on Alex VanAlder?
- I try not to speak ill of people, but that man is infuriating one minute and all nice and charming the next. He comes off as a bit of an ass. I wish he were more like Quinn.
Where do you see yourself in the future? What do you hope to accomplish?
- I see myself living with my love and creating a family together.
If you could time travel and/or live anywhere in the world, to when would you go and/or where would that be?
- I’m living right where I want to be now, but if we were to travel together, I think vacationing in Hawaii or Australia would be great.
