Author: Khaled Talib
Title: Gun Kiss
Genre(s): Thriller and suspense; Crime; Mystery
Review: From the start of the very first scene, Gun Kiss is an action packed and thrilling novel that will have you turning the pages as quickly as you can read them. We are first introduced to the male lead, Blake Deco, when he is hired by the FBI to recover the pistol that was used to assassinate Abraham Lincoln. During his encounter with the Russians, I found myself really enjoying Blake's charismatic and witty banter, all the while engaging in combat to complete the mission. Khaled did an excellent job at painting Blake as charming and handsome through character interactions and detailed descriptions. As the plot develops, Blake is introduced to Goldie. Their relationship was a lot of fun to witness and the writing surrounding their relationship was on point for helping me feel the tension between them. Regarding the plot, I found it to be somewhat similar to other action-oriented mystery thrillers. However, Khaled's use of intricately detailed scenes and great character personalities and growth set this book apart from others with added depth. I highly recommend this novel if you are looking for something that will keep you engaged throughout with action oriented scenes, fun characters, mystery, and unexpected romance.
